South Korean Asiana Airlines passenger opens emergency exit door mid flight

On Friday, during a South Korean flight, a passenger opened an emergency exit door, causing a gust of air to enter the cabin before the plane safely landed. The incident occurred on an Asiana Airlines Airbus A321 aircraft, with 194 individuals heading to Daegu from Jeju. Several passengers attempted to prevent the individual from opening the door, but they were unsuccessful, and the door opened partially. As of now, the details of the event, including how long the door remained open, are being investigated by Asiana Airlines. Video footage appeared on social media, showing passengers’ hair being whipped by the wind entering the cabin. The unidentified person who opened the door was arrested by the police, and their motive is unknown. The passengers included teenage athletes planning to participate in track and field events in Ulsan. The incident frightened some passengers, but there were no injuries. However, some passengers were checked at the hospital as a precaution.
