Emergency services en masse at incident at Sunbury Premier Inn

Emergency services are responding to an incident at the Sunbury Cross Premier Inn this evening (Thursday, October 28).

Images circulated on social media platforms that showed a heavy emergency services presence at the hotel on Staines Road in Sunbury.

Fire crews, paramedics and police vehicles were all seen at the site, with plastic cordons created a perimeter in place. An eye witness described seeing fire crews wearing respirators at the scene.

A spokesperson for the Spelthorne branch of Surrey Police confirmed their attendance at the incident but offered scant details, pending an update later today.

“We’re currently responding to an incident @ the Premier Inn on Staines Rd in Sunbury along with colleagues from the fire & ambulance service. There is a cordon in place at the scene.

“We do not believe there is any wider threat to the public & we will update you when we can,” a spokesperson for the force posted to Twitter just before 5pm.

South East Coast Ambulance Service, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and Surrey Police were contacted for comment.
