Pets take centerstage at Christmas costume contest in Bolivia

Dogs and cats of all sizes and even a bee were the protagonists of a Christmas costume parade and contest held Thursday at the Casa de la Mascota (House of Pets), a municipal unit responsible for animal welfare in La Paz.

The pets came with their owners to the contest dressed as Santa Claus or Grinch, some dressed like reindeers and and others in Christmas prints.

While rain somewhat delayed the parade, that time was used to administer rabies shots and other vaccines, as well as provide free vitamins and antiparasitic drugs to the dogs and cats present there. EFE
