NBA DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for December 3 include Anthony Edwards

Oklahoma City Thunder wing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been on the path to stardom for a while now but he’s making bigger strides than ever in the 2022-23 NBA season. Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 31.1 points, 6.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocks per game so far this season, and those stat-sheet-stuffing performances have made him a favorite in NBA DFS lineups. He’ll be in action on Saturday night as the Thunder take on the Timberwolves and he’s sure to be a popular option in the NBA DFS player pool during what should be a high-scoring game with the total at 231.

However, affording stars like Gilgeous-Alexander, Stephen Curry and Pascal Siakam require you to make some sacrifices elsewhere in your lineups. So who are some of the more affordable options that will allow you to take some big swings on the league’s biggest names and which of those stars have the best matchups? Before making any NBA DFS picks for Saturday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with over $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Friday, he highlighted Hornets guard Terry Rozier as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Rozier played turnover-free ball while producing 25 points, eight assists, five rebounds and two steals to return 48.25 points on DraftKings and 49 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to NBA action on Saturday and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Saturday, December 3

For Saturday, one of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks is Trail Blazers power forward Trendon Watford, who is listed at $3,700 on DraftKings and $3,900 on FanDuel. The LSU product averaged 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds over 48 games during his rookie season and he’s been a critical part of the Portland rotation again in 2022-23.

Watford is shooting 57.8% from the floor and averaging 5.5 points and 3.5 rebounds over 17.4 minutes per game and now he’s sliding into the starting lineup for the Trail Blazers. He had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while playing 31 minutes in a start on Wednesday and he averaged 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 10 games as a starter last season.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Timberwolves forward Anthony Edwards ($8,600 on DraftKings and $8,600 on FanDuel). Edwards is shooting a career-high 46.2% from the floor and averaging a career-high 22.9 points per game. Edwards has scored at least 25 points in each of his last four games and the Thunder are 28th in the NBA in scoring defense (117.4 ppg).

The former No. 1 overall pick is a dynamic scorer and he’ll be expected to pick up the bulk of the scoring load with Karl-Anthony Towns out 4-6 weeks with a calf strain. He should be well-rested after two days off and you can expect 35+ minutes and 20 or more shots on Saturday.
