NBA DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for Nov. 22, 2022 include Kevin Durant

With only four games on the NBA schedule on Tuesday, the NBA DFS player pool was already expected to be pretty shallow for NBA DFS tournaments, cash games and 50-50s on FanDuel and DraftKings. However, injuries and illnesses have only exacerbated issues as Joel Embiid (foot), LeBron James (adductor) and Nikola Jokic (COVID) are just a few of the NBA stars who are expected to miss Tuesday’s games. Desmond Bane (toe) and Jamal Murray (COVID) are also out but all those absences actually create opportunities to find value for savvy NBA DFS strategists.

Several players priced as role players will be forced into the starting lineup in their respective games tonight and successfully identifying the biggest gaps between pricing and expected production will be the name of the game on Tuesday. So who is priced like a 15-minute player but in line for 30-35 minutes with significantly increased responsibilities that could pay dividends in your NBA DFS lineups? Before making any NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with over $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

On Monday, he highlighted Thunder guard Josh Giddey as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Giddey had 18 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and a steal to return 40.25 points on DraftKings and 39.3 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to NBA action on Tuesday and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, November 22

For Tuesday, one of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks is 76ers guard De’Anthony Melton, who is listed at $7,500 on DraftKings and $7,400 on FanDuel. Philadelphia is absolutely ravaged by injuries with Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey all battling foot issues. That creates a desperate need for scoring and facilitating, and Melton has been providing that of late while also making his presence felt on the defensive end.

On Saturday, Melton had 19 points, six assists, five rebounds, five steals and a blocked shot to return nearly 50 points on both sites and he’s been solid as a starter this year. Melton is averaging 11.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game when he’s in the starting lineup. He and Tobias Harris are the two best options to carry the scoring load with Philadelphia’s three biggest stars sidelined.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Nets forward Kevin Durant ($11,200 on DraftKings and $11,000 on FanDuel). At 34 years old, the 12-time NBA all-star and four-time scoring champion is showing no signs of slowing down. He’s shooting a scorching 53.1% from the floor on the season and is fifth in the NBA in scoring (30.4 ppg).

Durant has been a pillar of consistency throughout the season on a roster that has desperately needed it, scoring at least 25 points in every game while playing in all 17 contests for Brooklyn. Now he’ll match up with a 76ers squad that is expected to be without its three best players. Durant should feast off an undermanned Sixers squad that he averaged 30.3 points, 11.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists against last season.
