Over the course of, I don’t know, 100 movies in the past 20 years, the Fast and Furious franchise has been a study in “family,” and chosen family at that. The family-ness of it all really reveals the soft center of all those muscles and engines.
How perfect then that when Meadow Walker, daughter of the late Paul Walker, who died in 2013 in a car crash, married actor Louis Thornton-Allan in the Dominican Republic earlier this month, a member of Walker’s chosen family walked her down the aisle? Vin Diesel, Walker’s costar and dad-like figure in the the film series, did the honor. The thing to say— the only thing you can really say about it, really—is this: “family” (and probably through tears).
The wedding appeared in Vogue last week, although there was no mention of Diesel. In photos that Walker posted to her own Instagram over the weekend, he wore a powder-blue suit with shades (no tie). The look paired well with the beach setting.
It’s a beautiful tribute to Walker’s father and a good way to keep a small wedding all in the family.
